As unpredictable hydrology and extended droughts continue to negatively impact the available water supply in the Kern River, the Sustainable Kern River campaign works to promote collaborative solutions to sustainably manage this crucial water supply so it can continue to meet the needs of the farmers and communities who are the foundation of Kern County’s identity and economic success.
Who We Are
The Sustainable Kern River campaign is a regional coalition of water users, community members, business interests and agricultural organizations who are committed to protecting and maintaining the rights and access to Kern River water that support the families, farmers, small businesses and disadvantaged communities who are the backbone of Kern County’s economy.
